Cairo ICT 2012
Stefanie Harrington, program director & public affairs manager at ImagineNations Group, will be speaking at the launch event of Egypt Entrepreneur Network (EEN). The launch of EEN will be announced at Cairo ICT 2012, an annual three-day conference held April 26-29 with the theme “Spring of Technologies.” Speakers at the launch will also include Mohamed Salem, minister of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT); Yasser Kazem, director of ELCC; and Ashraf Farghlay, CEO of the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. The conference will be attended by ministers from five African countries, officials from Egypt and other Arab countries, global and local companies, entrepreneurs and organizations.

Bloomberg Latin America Investment Conference
ImagineNations Co-Founder and Managing Director Alan H. Fleischmann will speak at the Bloomberg Latin America Investment Conference, held on April 26, 2012. The panel is titled, “Leadership Challenges: Where is Change Likely?” Fleischmann will be joined on the panel by Claudio Loser, president of the Centennial Group Latin America, and Susan Segal, president of the Council of the Americas. The moderator is John McCorry, Bloomberg News executive editor for the Americas.

Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship
Rick Little, founder and president of ImagineNations Group, will moderate “a conversation with young people” at the Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship, held at the University of Oxford. The session marks one of the first times the Forum has featured young people as an integral part of its formal agenda and will bring together remarkable young people who are making changes in their communities and countries. They will share their inspiring stories and challenge the audience to embrace them as partners and problem solvers, not as “problems to be solved.” Panel participants include Bassem El-Hady and Dina el Mofty, both from Egypt; Kip Oebanda and Ailyn Capacite Bulfa, both from the Philippines; and Amlan Ganguly, Salim Shekh and Sikha Patra, all from India.

The annual Skoll Forum is among the world’s premiere gatherings of social entrepreneurs – innovators from more than 65 countries, who are at the forefront of finding solutions to some of the world’s greatest challenges. The Forum’s mission is to accelerate the impact of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs by uniting them with essential partners in a collaborative pursuit of learning, leverage and large-scale social change.

Egypt: Forward
Managing Director Alan Fleischmann will participate in "Egypt: Forward," a two-day forum, held on June 27-28 in Washington, sponsored by the United States Trade Development Agency (USTDA). The two-day conference aims to enhance trade and sustainable economic development in Egypt, and will bring together more than 60 Egyptian policy makers and private sector leaders in order to encourage greater U.S.-Egyptian trade and commercial collaboration. Fleischmann will introduce a luncheon session, entitled "The Information Age: Setting the Stage for Development," featuring addresses from Ambassador Philip Verveer, Coordinator for International Communications & Information Policy, U.S. Department of State; and H.E. Dr. Magued Osman, Minister, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Arab Republic Egypt. During his introductory remarks, Fleischmann will highlight the work of Partners for a New Beginning (PNB), including its efforts in Egypt. ImagineNations is a founding partner of PNB.

AICGS Retreat
Alan Fleischmann will be a keynote speaker at the German Marshall Fund/American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) Retreat for German public and private officials at the Aspen Wye Campus in Maryland. The topic is: "Assessing Risk and Opportunity in Transatlantic Relations".

Partners for a New Beginning Summit
Alan Fleischmann will participate in the Partners for a New Beginning (PNB) Summit in Washington, D.C. He is moderating a panel discussion on women's entrepreneurship as a vehicle for job creation and economic growth, encompassing both micro-enterprises and SMEs. ImagineNations Group is a founding member of PNB. 

Alan Fleischmann will also serve as the master of ceremonies at the UAE evening reception for Summit participants, held on May 31 at Hotel Palomar.

SIBF Washington Briefing
ImagineNations Managing Director Alan Fleischmann will participate in a session, entitled "Understanding the Current Chaos in the World," at the Washington Briefing conference of the Society of International Business Fellows (SIBF), held in Washington on May 14-17. Fleischmann spoke on the role and importance of youth investment globally. The session was moderated by Mike House of Hogan Lovells, LLP, and other session participants included Raymond Gilpin of the United States Institute of Peace and Arnold Punaro of The Punaro Group, LLC & the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Making Cents ConferenceGlobal Youth Enterprise & Livelihoods Development Conference
Representatives from ImagineNations Group and its partner organization, Silatech, will participate in a plenary panel, entitled "Youth Enterprise & Employment in the MENA Region: Initiatives Designed to Reach Scale & Provide Access," at the annual Global Youth Microenterprise conference. ImagineNations Managing Director Alan Fleischmann will moderate the panel, which will address topics such as creating scalable and sustainable employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for young people in the region and also discuss the power of technology and innovative approaches. Panelists include Thelma Tajirian, Silatech's director of microfinance; Robert Lalka, global partnerships liaison, Office of the Secretary of State; Ahmed Younis, Silatech's director of strategic partnerships & communications; and Jacob Korenblum, co-founder of Souktel. Panelists will present the opportunities and challenges in creating scalable, sustainable interventions that lead to quality employment and youth-led entrepreneurship in the MENA region.

The President's Forum with Young African Leaders
ImagineNations Group is co-sponsoring an evening reception honoring the participants of the President's Forum with Young African Leaders of the Aspen Institute, held on August 2 at the National Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C. Managing Director Alan Fleischmann will offer remarks to kick off the event. The President's Forum with Young African Leaders will bring together over 100 young leaders from civil society and the private sector from more than 40 sub-Saharan African countries with American counterparts and U.S. government officials to focus on key themes of America's partnership with African nations, including youth empowerment, good governance and economic opportunity.

Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship
President Obama's Summit on Entrepreneurship, held in Washington, D.C., on April 26 and 27 follows through on President Obama's commitment to identify how the U.S. can deepen ties between business leaders, foundations and social entrepreneurs in the United States and Muslim communities around the world. Managing Director Alan Fleischmann will be representing ImagineNations Group as a delegate at the Summit. Rick Little, president and CEO of ImagineNations and CEO of Silatech, has been selected to represent Silatech as a delegate at the Summit. Additionally, ImagineNations Board Member Nada Al-Nashif is representing the International Labour Organization.

ImagineNations Group and Global Partnership for Youth Investment (GPYI) co-sponsored the Mo Khemka Foundation's Forum on Social Entrepreneurship in Hyderabad, India. The purpose of the Forum was to create a gathering place where all stakeholders and supporters of the field of social entrepreneurship in India could meet to collectively identify and promote opportunities. As a result of ImagineNations and GPYI's support, the Forum included a specific youth entrepreneurship component.

This first-ever three-day session has been designed to bring together youth leaders, NGOs, youth foundations and experts. Panel discussions will focus on two areas of importance to young people everywhere: youth citizenship and empowerment and moving from school into the work force.

Managing Director Alan Fleischmann receives the Goodwin Award on behalf of ImagineNations Group in Siena, Italy. ImagineNations Group has been chosen as a recipient of the noted Goodwin Award as "Facilitators for Social Entrepreneurship" by the University of Siena. Fleischmann will give remarks following an award ceremony, including introductory remarks by the Nobel Prize Economist Dr. Joseph Stiglitz.

ImagineNations is leading a delegation to Zambia to help plan the November launch of the Zambian youth investment trust. During its launch, the newly established Trust will announce its first investments in youth enterprise and business.

ImagineNations is convening the first group strategy session of its Moroccan advisory committee, a core group of leaders and visionaries from among Morocco's most well-known public and financial sector institutions. The advisory committee is working closely with ImagineNations toward the overall development, funding and implementation of a Youth Investment Alliance in Morocco.
