ImagineNations Releases In-Depth Case Study Report of Successful Youth Employment Models

1 September 2007 — ImagineNations Group today released its in-depth case studies and cross-country analysis of youth employment strategies for the benefit of donors, investors, governments and implementers.

Over the past year, ImagineNations has identified and documented successful large-scale initiatives in Bangladesh, China and South Africa that are comprehensive, systemic and sustainable approaches.

ImagineNations has entered into partnership with the lead organization in each of these countries - BRAC in Bangladesh, the All-China Youth Federation in China and the Umsobomvu Youth Fund in South Africa - to learn how each model has achieved scale and impact to develop these in-depth cases.

"ImagineNations and our partners believe these initiatives are the types of approaches that are necessary to address the magnitude of the opportunities and challenges facing young people in developing countries in search of work and entrepreneurism," said Alan Fleischmann, managing director of ImagineNations Group. "These comprehensive efforts will serve as tangible and inspiring youth employment examples to governments, banks, investors, microfinance institutions and NGOs."

Each case study details unprecedented levels of investments in youth within each nation, as well as innovations in programs and practices in employment creation, scaling small and medium-sized enterprises, entrepreneurship coaching, mentoring and training, and microfinance. ImagineNations continues to seek out similar learning partners in other countries to build an ever widening network to leverage greater investments in youth.

The case study report will be shared with a wide audience at the upcoming global Youth Microenterprise Conference, a two-day event co-sponsored by ImagineNations that will bring together the world's leading experts and practitioners in youth microenterprise, entrepreneurship and livelihood development.
